Everytime I go out deep into the wildnerness I pack several methods for making fire. Using matches or a lighter are the easiest and I carry them both in several pockets of my pack and in my pants.
But even two methods may not be enough. In a survival situation you never know what circumstances you will be in – freezing cold, mounds of snow, lack of fuel sources, or whatever else might there.
Just in case, you should know how to make a fire and what you can use to do it. Being familiar and planning ahead may be the difference when you make fire if your matches or lighters don’t work out.
