Life as a cowboy appears glamorous; it is not. It is hard work, little money. The traditional cowboy was a cattle herder who rode on horseback through large ranges across the grasslands, prairies, and mountains throughout the country. The cowboy had many tasks and responsibilities that began before the sun came up and didn’t end until after dark.
What you see in the movies is not the real life of a cowboy. The popular cowboys today are in the rodeos. There are still the traditional cowboys today but most of them use modern technology to help in their work.
