If you need to connect two pieces of material, say metal, about the strongest bond you can get is a metal weld. Except there’s a new bond in town. A type of metallic glue can bond two pieces of metal together at room temperature.
It is thermally and electrically conductive, and the bond is about as strong as a traditional weld.
It was designed by Hanchen Huang, a Northeastern University professor of mechanical and industrial engineering. The glue may have applications in electronics design and infrastructure.
